Adding Tomorrows, Today

Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with Cystic Fibrosis. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been the driving force behind the pursuit of a cure and this year Standard Bank will be supporting Cystic Fibrosis by raising money during the month of June. Each branch will be participating in a pin-up program, similar to our recent MDA campaign.

Please join Standard Bank by participating and/or contributing to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation today because it is one of the most efficient and effective organizations of its kind – with nearly 90 cents of every dollar raised, going towards investments in vital CF research, care and education programs.

Standard Bank will be showing its support through sponsoring and by participating in 3 Great Strides Walks. Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraising event with more than 250,000 walkers participating each year.

If you or someone you know would like to register for the Great Strides Walks, simply go to www.cff.org/great_strides. There is no registration fee but all registered walkers will have the opportunity to donate if they wish and will have access to the online fundraising tools. With your help, we can make CF stand for Cure Found!
