Windy City Thunderbolts wrap-up
Good Afternoon T-Bolt fans! It brought a tear to my eye as the final pitch closed out the ThunderBolts season but as a loyal Chicagosports enthusiast the phrase “maybe next year” isn’t that uncommon of a thing. Our good ol’ Bolts ended the season at 54-42 after a loss to RiverCityon Sunday, September 2nd. It was a fight to the end as the Bolts led the three game series with two wins.
While the season is over the Bolts are still making headlines as Mike Recchia became the first ThunderBolt to win the Brian Tollberg Award when he was named the Frontier League’s top pitcher. Recchia was one of two ThunderBolt players honored when the
postseason awards were released. Chad Cregar joins Recchia on the postseason all-star team as the league’s top designated hitter. The ThunderBolts front office was honored as well, as General Manager Mike Lucas was named the Executive of the Year. Congrats to the Thunderbolts team and staff on a great season and on winning these coveted awards.
With only 161 days until Pitchers and Catchers Report I’m already preparing for another highly anticipated season from our Bolts. Standard Bank held three highly attended theme nights; Jimmy Buffet, Country and Elvis night. With amazing give-a-ways it’s going to be hard to top the coveted Elvis Sunglasses. Standard Bank also had some good friends of the bank throw out the first pitch during these games. What an honor for these folks and for Standard Bank. If you have an idea for a Standard Bank give-a-way or a theme night leave it in the comment section below. We would love to hear from all our fans!
So that wraps things up for yours truly, I’ll be heading out for a much needed vacation. Since I’ll be on the move I’ve already downloaded my Standard Bank mobile app. It’s going to keep me connected to my account wherever I may roam and lets me check my balance, pay a bill or even transfer funds.
